This felt is 2 mm thick and 30 x 30 cm (11.8 inches by 11.8 inches). It is 90% wool felt, and 10% polyester. It is perfect for making needle felted paintings. The thickness and density of the felt will stand up to intensive needle felting. If you use craft polyester felt when you make a needle felted painting, you risk having it warp and distort when you pull it off the mat. This thick, dense felt holds up to much for vigorous needle felting.

Teaching a class? These squares are perfect. You will save time not having to cut felt down to size for your kits.

In addition to using the felt to make lovely needle felted paintings, you may use it for many other craft projects. The ten percent polyester in the felt makes it thermoformable. This felt may also be cut, sewn, and glued.

I selected this felt for use in needle-felted paintings. The felt may contain very minimal amounts of vm or the occasional discoloration. If you are using this felt for a project where you need everything to be perfectly uniform (like polyester felt), this felt might not be perfect for your project.

The wool used in this felt is from non-museled sheep. The dye company that produces this felt is certified by the International Oeko-Tex Association.
